What is the BLAP Lab?

The Brain, Learning, Attention, and Performance (BLAP) Lab hosts research focused on measuring psychophysiological processes (e.g., attentional control, emotion) related to human learning, expert performance, and cognitive health. In our work, we use biometric sensors such as EEG, eye-tracking, and heart rate to measure cognitive and emotional processes during perceptual-motor tasks. We are particularly interested in how emerging assistive technological tools impact cognition and learning processes. Consequently, our research blends domains of human-machine teaming with sport psychology, with the goal of our research being to enhance human health and performance through understanding how technological tools best support human functioning.

The BLAP Lab is led by Dr. Brady DeCouto and operates primarily out of the Sport Psychology Laboratory at Florida State University.
